THREE PILLARS

The Three Pillars of Body Listening, Wayfinding, and Narrative Design reclaim the hidden powers of the Body + the Mind by unifying them to beautify our lives.

THREE PILLARS

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

For many, many years now, I’ve been cultivating three important practices, upon which all of my decisions + activities are founded. These Three Pillars have informed not only the specific course of my own personal development, but also the specific nature of each service I have ever contemplated, crafted, or presented.

These pillars consolidate an extraordinary amount of information into just three (magnificently) simple practices. Each of these practices distills complex ideologies into meaningful experiences we can live + learn from in real life.

They are rooted in the study of whole systems, nature itself, embodiment practices, neurosystems, psychology, philosophy, mythology, spirituality, health + holistic healing, hypnosis, energetics, and much more.

They do not require dedicated time or space for practice. They do not require complicated layers of education. Each of them can be made use of right now, right away - by anyone of any age, at any time of day.

These three pillars bring our best ideas down to life. They make real the best of our intentions by providing a pragmatic framework within which we can live them out in ordinary life.

BODY LISTENING

AWAKENING TO NATURAL INTELLIGENCE

The human being makes sense of experience through two primary forms of awareness. The first of these is the physical Body itself. The second is what we call the Mind. Each of these forms of awareness has a role, and each supports the other in some way.

Unfortunately, we have been led to believe that the Body is dumb + the Mind is the Master. In fact, it’s worse than that: our modern lives have led us to believe that all awareness happens in the Mind.

Because of this, we’ve given full authority of living to the Mind. Because of this, we have become a disembodied species: we have learned to think our way through life.

Because of this, we’ve been walking mostly-blind through every day of our important lives.

•••

The fact of the matter is that these forms of awareness must be married if we are to tap the richness of experience. The truth is that the depth of our awareness is embodied, and our primary intelligence is a resource few of us have ever wielded.

Body Listening changes all of that by turning this whole story on its head: returning the awareness of our conscious Mind to its correct position as a Student (as opposed to a task-master) of the Body.

Body Listening begins by understanding that the Body has intelligence + a language all its own. The body feels, experiences, knows. The body speaks!

In order to make sense of what it’s saying, we must learn its language just like any other.

•••

Body Listening is a practice that retrains the Mind to pause + listen inward: to grow conscious of the Natural Intelligence our bodies are continually seeking to express.

Through this practice, we develop sensitivity to the Body’s signals, understanding them to be the system of communication that they are.

We become aware of just how totally impeccable (and necessary) this form of awareness really is.

•••

Body Listening reconnects us to the rich, poetic nature of our lives: not as some idea we consider or discuss, but as a rhythm + relationship we feel.

Meeting life so intimately is a sacred act of celebration. Celebrating life is why we’re here.

WAYFINDING

CONNECTING TO THE PATH OF DESTINY

In Body Listening, we began the work of engaging both forms of our natural awareness as a cooperative system of communication. We relaxed the Mind into its ideal position as a student of the Body’s deeper awareness of Life’s movements.

Through Body Listening, we learn how to pay attention to the body’s subtle signals. Wayfinding is the practice that allows us to make sense of what they say. Beyond that, Wayfinding shows us how to act on what we’ve “heard.”

•••

Wayfinding illuminates the brilliant simplicity of the body’s “inner language.” Through learning this essential language, we begin to tap the well of Natural Intelligence that is our most primal birthright.

Once we can interpret what the body is consistently revealing to us, we regain connection to the fundamental source of personal direction in our lives. We begin again to “find our way.”

•••

Wayfinding is a system of orientation. It aligns us with the pulse of life + growth that is so perfectly expressed in all of Nature. It notifies us when we are off-base, or misaligned.

Recognizing this, we can proactively align ourselves with what is beautiful, creative, right, and true. We become effective, capable, and conscious in new ways.

Wayfinding is a perfect system. We have just forgotten how it works.

•••

Wayfinding is the most practical + significant discovery that I have ever made. It is the single discipline to which I have devoted every moment of my adult life.

The fullest application of both The Forgotten Sense + Body Listening is most properly expressed through this one practice.

It is the key to effective decision-making, personal creation of any kind, and mastery of timing.

It is the inherent link to our life’s Deeper Purpose, Greatest Story, Highest Path.

It is a perfect system: we have just forgotten how it works.

NARRATIVE DESIGN

CREATING FROM THE INSIDE OUT

The Forgotten Sense describes the Body + the Mind as our primary forms of human awareness, and demonstrates how we have typically negated + misutilized them both. The Three Pillars represent their proper application + provide a simple framework that allows us to reclaim their hidden powers in the context of our ordinary lives.

In Body Listening, we prioritize the body, and submit the conscious mind to the inherent wisdom that it holds. In Wayfinding, we engage the mind more actively: interpreting + acting on the Natural Intelligence communicated by the body’s signals.

In Narrative Design, we recognize + activate the true creative powers of the mind: powers that can only be effectively applied if rooted in the two important pillars that support it.

Effective application of Narrative Design is impossible without a mastery of Wayfinding; which, of course, depends upon a proper application of Body Listening.

The foundation is, in every case, the body: an awareness of its language, and a willingness to understand + honor what it says.

•••

So what is Narrative Design?

Narrative Design deals with our inner stories: with our thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and our words. It recognizes the inherent power of the mind as a creative force that shapes the quality + content of our lives: a force we are responsible to wield with greatest care.

Narrative Design makes use of Wayfinding to craft the sort of stories we feel most inspired to live out. It puts us in control of our creative power by proactively defining the specific content of our thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and our words.

Narrative Design systematically eliminates disempowered stories while replacing them with curated alternatives that empower a life lived on our own terms.

We become impeccable, intentional creators when the power of our Mind is unified with the inherent wisdom of the Body.

Narrative Design is the ideal expression of that union.

•••

The practice of Narrative Design is introduced in Level III of The Forgotten Sense. It is a synthesis of principles derived from quantum theory, neuroscience, NLP, hypnosis, law of attraction, and more.

To be extremely clear: the true power of Narrative Design is contained in the mastery of those (two) pillars that support its proper use.

Because of this, the appropriate beginning point is Level I of The Forgotten Sense.
